Wisdom Teeth

Hello! Is everybody staying warm? I’m having a hard time doing so, I don’t want to kill mom’s energy bill. :(

Remember that English essay I took earlier this week that I said I didn’t know anything about what I was writing? Well it appears that I got a 90 on it! It’s completely ironic considering that when I felt knowledgeable about writing other essays, I would get 75 or an 82. Maybe I should just not know stuff from now on. :) Well, my English finals are over with, next week will be both History and Business Speaking on the same day. Wish me luck!!

dsc_0045-copy Lets talk about something that some people have recently been curious about. The removal of my wisdom teeth last week. Unlike some of my lucky friends, my wisdom teeth grew in at a perfect sideways angle. Food kept getting stuck and I was getting pretty fed up with it. Exactly one week ago, Thomas took me to the orthodontist to get all four of the suckers removed. When the time for operation came, I smoothed my hair, sat back in my chair (Owl city reference, ha), and let them do their thing. They made me inhale laughing gas through my nose. I know why they call it laughing gas now!! It’s not because the gas makes you laugh, but it’s because you get really sleepy every time you breathe in, and that fact alone makes you laugh! You know how when you breathe in, your chest rises? Well, if it’s laughing gas you’re breathing in, then your chest does the opposite, it sinks down. Anyways, they then gave me a lethal injection and I died. Well, something like that. They injected me and I fell asleep. What happened after that remains a mystery… View Full Article »

New theme

How is everybody? Is finals week going well? I hope nobody has the flu, it’s starting to spread around like crazy. :\

So I just wanted to say that I decided to change my theme today. The last theme had way too many bugs and just didn’t feel natural as a blog. Unlike my previous themes, this one was not built from the ground up. I decided to use another theme and give it my own twist. The theme I picked was Pixel by Samk. It’s an incredible yet simplistic looking theme that I was able to easily modify with a little bit of studying and patience. I’m no good at creating code, but modifying it is a different story. I decided to go for a more spacey/futuristic looking theme. The original idea was to use a take a picture of myself with a night sky. Knowing that I look like a mess right now, I knew that was not going to happen anytime soon. Instead, I looked around my photo archive and found a huge panoramic picture I took of Belton Lake at night. I was bored that night and decided to take a trip to the lake to take my mind off things. It’s a really wide picture, so you can’t really see the full scale and view of the lake in the theme. The reason why I chose this picture is because of the the clear night sky. Perfect for adding stars. So after a few (maybe six) hours of hard work and modifying, viola! ruizwashere v8.0. :)

So take a look around, the feel is new but the content is pretty much the same. If you see anything wrong or weird-looking, just let me know. Oh, just in case you didn’t know, I had my wisdom teeth pulled the other day. It’s healing, but it takes forever. I started eating solid food yesterday so I’m starting to feel good again. I guess I better start studying for my English exam tomorrow. It’s not the final exam unfortunately, those aren’t until next week for CTC students.

I’m also going to reactivate my Facebook next week when the semester finally ends. I was tempted to do it now but I don’t want to get sidetracked. ;)

Stay well, stay healthy!

Class is not in session.

My first class was cancelled today, which is stupid. I’m tired but I still put forth the effort to barely make it to the classroom just to find out that I didn’t have to be there. Sure the message on the door read “Class is cancelled today”, but that’s just the technical message. The real message is saying “HA! You could’ve stayed home and slept in!! Gotcha! Yeahh boii!!” Seriously, could these professors at least try to send a mass email or something? SMS? Hell, I don’t know. So yeah, now I’m in the library typing this up because I have nothing better to do and my eyes are killing me. Don’t you hate this kind of situation when you’re on campus and you have nothing to do for a long time? What do you do during this time?

I had an appointment yesterday for an examination to get my wisdom teeth removed. Insurance is putting a delay on the procedure because they can’t provide an exact estimate as to how much they’re paying so I have to wait for a few weeks. Thank god my teeth are in no pain though. My friend said I’ll end up looking like a chipmunk after the procedure is done. Are my cheeks really going to swell that bad? If you had your wisdom teeth removed already, what was it like? Was it smooth and easy, or rough and painful? Did you look like a chipmunk? :]

So I did a little tweaking to the site in the past few days. Nothing big, just a few tweaks and minor upgrades. It’s hard to notice if you don’t visit often, but just enjoy it anyways. If you have been visiting though, one thing you’ve probably noticed is that I changed the top banner picture, which reminds me. Last night, I went out with a few friends to take photos on campus. Thomas, Jasmin, Matt, and I spent nearly 3 hours taking a whopping 527 photos. Even after deleting bad test photos and blurry screw-ups, there’s still over 200 photos that looked pristine. The photos I like are posted here. I’m going to leave them untouched for now but who’s to say that I could be using them for something in the future, there’s just so many good ones. Soon you’ll probably be seeing similar gallery sets either on their Facebook accounts or on Jasmin’s Blog. Be sure to view them over there too when they post them up and show some support! It took us a lot of effort (especially the last ones) to take these so that you all can enjoy them. So view and appreciate. Thanks!

Oh, and eff Windows 7. I just got called into work because of the stupid launch. fml.
