My name is Ruiz Hee Akpan. Probably one of the most ironic and weirdest names you have ever heard considering that I am not Hispanic. To make it easier, I give people the option to call me by either “Roo-ez” or “Roo-eece”, I will respond to both. I can be one of many things. An avid technology enthusiast. An experimental photographer. A passion-driven social networker. A top-class Street Fighter addict. An excellent student that does not-as-excellent work. Whatever I am though, I always strive to be more and do more.

• I’ve been an avid Photoshopper for seven years.
• I love taking pictures that express a message.
• I am a Computer Science Major.
• I’ll try anything once.

• I can make people mad with my sarcasm, most of the time without even trying.
• I try to be as nice and polite and possible, though it may seem like I’m giving a negative vibe.

These days, people are able to express themselves to hundreds of people through social networking communities such as MySpace or Facebook. We are able to share pictures and tell others about what’s going on in our lives. It’s an amazing phenomenon that was not practically possible before the 21st century. While social networking sites are all fine and dandy, there’s just one problem: Everyone is game. Facebook isn’t all about you, it’s about everyone that’s not you. But what if I said I didn’t want that? What if I said that I wanted something that was all about me and who I am? This is where ruizwashere comes in.

ruizwashere.com is my personal website and blog built from the ground up by me, myself, and I (with the help of amazing open-source materials, of course). I am NOT a professional world-class web designer, I’m just a pure freelancing experimentalist who teaches himself. But why? Because I want to share my views, activities, creations to the world and the people around me. And the best part is, it’s all about me (and a lot of other things).
